Help Us Today

Based at the heart of the Jewellery Quarter since 1779, St Paul’s Church is an icon of the city that we all love. It’s in our hearts and now in our selfies, but, like an old friend, it needs our help to stop its welcoming doors closing for good.

The roof has come to the end of it’s life and needs replacing or there is a real risk of flooding causing catastrophic damage to the Grade 1 listed building and its contents.

At a cost of £660,000 we are calling on businesses and individuals to make a donations to preserve the building for future generations.

Why We Need Your Support

Over its 240 year life, the church has withstood the Industrial Revolution and two World Wars. It was badly damaged in World War II but thanks to its many friends – especially in America – the fabric was restored. Today St Paul's faces a new challenge. Its guttering is worn out and there have been frequent damaging ingresses of water over the last 3 years. Urgent repairs are needed. A group of JQ residents and business leaders have formed a Project Board to look ahead to the future to regenerate and repair much of the fabric which has undergone wear and tear.

Today, St Paul’s has an international congregation and has a significant number of concerts and events. It is also the hub of the JQ, with many neighbourhood and local organisations using the church and its beautiful churchyard for meetings and events. It is always busy.

But our historic building and wide-ranging work come at a price.
To be there for generations to come, we are reaching out to those who can help us today.

As the JQ expands, St Paul's remains essential to the honouring of Birmingham’s past and a unique space for Christian worship, for calm and reflection, for music and laughter, for meeting and celebrating.

Your donations mean the St Paul's will be able to continue supporting those that walk through our doors whether they be virtual or physical.

Thank you for supporting the work and life of St Paul's Church in the Jewellery Quarter.
